I have some wonderful news to pass along. Elizabeth and Justin are engaged. They are getting married on Oct. 1, 2011. They are planning a small wedding at the Ernte Fest Building in Freistatt. They went to Springfield to have their engagement pictures taken. I don't remember the name of the photographer. They took lots of props including Grandma and Grandpa's two-seater bike. Elizabeth is very creative so no telling what the pictures will be. They have been planning for a week or so. I don't know very many details, but I will pass them along to you as I know them.
Steve is feeling better. He has been up and around for two days now. He took a long nap today. His feet are bothering him because he wore his old cheap sneakers the other day when we ran an outside errand. He didn't want to get his "new" shoes dirty. I told him we would get him two pair so there wouldn't be this issue anymore. The shoes really make a difference. Last night his feet woke him up at 11:30 and he hit the chair in the front room. He got some relief and was able to sleep most of the night.
Yesterday, we rode the two-seater bike up and down our road. Boy we were a sight. Steve took the front, and I was on the back. Talk about a site. I was not a good back person. You know me, I like to be in control. It didn't help me that he is not a steady driver and we seemed to drift all around the road. As the ride went on, we got better. I finally just had to look down and not try to steer us. On a two-seater there can only be one boss. He did a great job peddling although we were both worn out at the end of our ride. I think it would be a great thing to get our own two-seater. I know there are several couples around that have them. They are geared like road bikes so it is easier to ride than the older Schwinn we were on.
I finished the "barf" quilt top this evening. I will take a picture tomorrow in the daytime and post it so you can see it. Remember, you might want to have some pepto handy. Just kidding, Steve actually thought it looked nice. Frankly, I am tired of it right now and just happy to start a new one. In a day or two, I will be able to look at it and not "hate" it. I am like that with those long hard projects. I get "sick" of them after a while and need to set it aside to appreciate it.
Amelia is in Texas. She has been there a couple of days. We think she is going to bring Aubree home when she comes back to Missouri. They are planning another trip at the end of the month. I believe Elizabeth and Justin will go along. That way Mimi can meet and get to know Justin. I think one of Elizabeth's friends is hosting a shower while she is down there.
School starts in one month. Boy, did I just depress myself in telling you that. I do love my summers. I can already tell you I don't want to go back to school. Really!!! It will be very difficult for me to leave Steve here at home. I am used to doing so much with him. Hopefully, I will have a schedule that will allow me to come home during the day if i need to. Oh, it will also be difficult for me to get up early, get dressed in something other than gym shorts and t-shirts, and not to take a nap. I believe I will have to use that 5 Hour Energy drink everyday. I do love my naps too!!!
