Today's Steve's 55th birthday. We had a little party with Grandma, Grandpa, Justin, Elizabeth, Amelia, and Aubree. Steve grilled chicken, we had Rice-a-Roni, fresh sweet corn (from Farmer's Market), cucumber salad, cake and ice cream. It was all good. Steve did an excellent job on the chicken. It was really warm while he was grilling, cut he stuck it out like a trooper. We didn't do anything special today. He worked in the Man Cave on the big project. He is in bed now. He was worn out from his "big" day.
Aubree spent the day with us. She was a big helper in the kitchen getting things ready for dinner. She is such a little grown up. Sometimes you forget she is only 4 she talks so old for her ages. She sure can make Opa laugh and smiles. They love each other so much.
Thank you to all the people who called and sent birthday cards. They really made him happy.
I really don't have much to talk about tonight. Really, our life has been pretty boring. He has been workshopping, and I have been working on another scrap quilt. I don't mind boring, it is the unexpected excitement that kills us.
I am thinking about purchasing one of those wee rider training bikes for Aubree. It attaches to the back of an adult bike and the child learns balance while tagging along. They can peddle or just coast. Does anyone know anything about those bike? Walmart carries them, but you have to order them online only. I can't find any that I can actually go and pick up from some store. Target has them but they are online only. I'll keep you posted on what I decide to do. Of course, Steve is no help. He simply says, "If you want it, order it." I shouldn't complain. He tells me that a lot and never makes any comments when I buy things. I am really lucky when it comes to that. Of course, I return the favor and give him a free hand too. We are a perfect match!
