School year 2011-12

Tomorrow is the first day of school.  Weeee!  I am ready, but the question is...are the kids ready for me?

Steve has chemo tomorrow.  I am not going with him.  This is the first time of his 20 chemos that I have not gone with him.  He would not let me miss the first day of school this year.  He is doing much better. His mother is going with him tomorrow.  He has his lab at 7 so they will have to get an early start.  He promised to call me after he talked to the Dr. and then again when he got home.  I know he is a big boy and I shouldn't worry, but I do.  It is one of those things that you want to think that they need you and that things will not be the same without you.

We are watching this show on the History Channel called You Don't Know Dixie.  What is the deal with people's obsession with the South.  Please, I think I have had enough.  Steve is paying attention to the show and thinks it is "stupid".  Where are the good standbys...Pawn Stars and Swamp People?

Steve rested this afternoon.  This morning he worked in the yard.  He weedeated, blew the sidewalks, and sprayed.  He did that until he got really, really hot.  After that, it was a lazy afternoon.  He did work in the Man Cave for about two hours.  He wanted it to be an easy day so he would not be worn out for his treatment tomorrow.  He thinks that he has been tired for the last couple of treatments and that has made a difference.

Kyle leaves for MSSU tomorrow.  It is a big day for him.  We are proud of him and wish him the best.  We had dinner with him tonight.  Grandma made his birthday dinner and invited us.  We had all his favorites:  noodles, mashed pots, gravy, roast beef, and ice cream cake.  Kaleb was there too.  It was sure nice visiting with both of them.  They have turned out to be nice young men!

Amelia also starts school at Pierce City tomorrow.  Elizabeth and Koleen start on Monday.
