Oma in training

Yes, I have to start training on the bike.   Aubree and I tried out the Weee Rider this afternoon.  It sure was fun.  It is hard to pull because it is an additional 65 pounds to pedal through.  Aubree said she was really peddling hard, but Opa, who was watching us, said she hardly pedaled at all.  She is going to have to go into training too.  She was so excited about riding a two wheeler and going so fast.  She talked the whole ride.  I will never have to worry about being bored while I ride.  I put the bike on my hybrid.  It is a little heavier bike and will be able to handle the strain of pulling the additional weight.  We had to lower Aubree's seat because it was high and we also had to adjust the handle bars to lean more into her so it is not such a far reach.  She really like the flag.  You know we wear helmets when we ride, too.  SAFETY  FIRST!  I think we are going to have great fun on the new bike.  We are riding tomorrow morning (Sat) at 7:00 in the high school parking lot.  That is sort of flat and paved.  We will not have to worry about traffic while we practice.

Oma and Aubree getting ready to hit the road on the new trailer bike.

Getting our balance and away we go.

Weeeeee!

Coming up the hill in front of the house.  What a team!!!!

The ride is about over.

We did it!!!!!
Steve had a good day.  He BBQed ribs this morning.  It was not so hot, and it was easier for him to stay outside.  We showed his arbor to my friend, Betty.  After that, Aubree, Opa, Betty, and I went to Maggie Mae's in Miller for lunch.  It was a great time.  When we got home, Steve rested for a little while.  He then fixed dinner for me.  We had ribs, baked pots, baked beans, and cucumber/tomato salad.  He is a good chef.  I feel very lucky that when he feels well enough, he takes care of me.  After dinner, he went downstairs to the "Man Cave" and did "Man Cave" guy things.  I didn't ask, and he didn't tell.
Now he is resting in bed while we watch a special Shark Week Dual Survival with Cody and Dave exploring sharks.  Oh, there was just a commercial for a new show called "Hillbilly Hand Fishing".  I really hope steve does not want to watch it when it comes on.  I'm not sure I can handle a show like that.

It is tax free weekend in Missouri.  I don't think we will be going anywhere near the mall.  I think we have to go to Lowe's tomorrow.  Steve needs a few things, and Aubree wants a butterfly net.  Grandpa made her a very nice wooden glass faced bug collection box.  We have a couple of bugs already, but she wants some butterflies.  Bug collecting is a good thing for her and Opa to do together.
