It's 7:30 pm Tues. night and we have been at MD Anderson for four hours. It was a very nice trip from Sherman. We left Sherman around 9:30. We hit Dallas in what they say is normal traffic, but I believe between Houston traffic and Dallas traffic, I have seen more cars today than a whole year in Mt. Vernon. Just this side of Dallas, we had to make a hillbilly exit: I really had to pee and there were no spots so we exited the highway and pulled onto an old abandoned road just off the exit. There was my outhouse...it is a white trash trip already.
We ate a place called Texas Burger. Once again we could not pass up the sign. Come on, I know you are laughing but you would have eaten there too. Steven said it was the best patty melt he has ever had. That is a pretty bold statement since his is a patty melt connoisseur.
Our view of Houston was wonderful as we came into town.
Once we arrived at MD we checked into our hotel: the Rotary House International. It is a wonderful place. My gosh. They cater to the patient. We have already had a brief orientation to MD. The hotel has ambassadors for MD right her. They showed us maps.....they even got Steven a wheelchair. He is plumb tuckered out. He did ok on the ride here, but I could tell he was about at the end when we arrived. Our room is on the 9th floor. What a view.
We opened our card for tonight. It also had two devotions. The cards and the devotions are really spirit lifters. Thanks, family.
We are calling it an early night. We have to get up early. Those of you that are really familiar with Steven, know that we have to always arrive early to any appointment. With the walk and preparation, we will probably have to wake up about 6:00 to make the appointment. I will write tomorrow to tell you about our day. Thanks for all the kind thoughts and prayers.

Glad to hear you made it. We have been thinking about you guys all day long. The kids keep talking about you and asking lots of questions!!!! Wish we were closer so we could come visit!! We can't be there in person but we will be there in spirit!!! Love You Guys!!!! Doug,Kim,Julia and Brian
