HOMEWARD BOUND

I know the title of the blog is strange, but let me explain.  We saw Dr. Rice today.  He is the thoracic surgeon.  He looked at Steve's tests from yesterday.  He decided that Steve did not need anymore operations.  Dr. Rice did say that Steve has cancer in both lungs.  He told us that he did not need to have a PET scan tomorrow since the tumors are so obvious on the CT scan.  Dr. Rice also called the oncologist here at MD Anderson.  They discussed Steve's case, and it was decided that there are no different treatments that they offer here.  So, they cancelled all the rest of our appointments and are sending us home.  Dr. Rice also called Dr. P and Dr. Hoos in Springfield.  That way they are up to speed with everything that has been done here.  The good news is Steve can get the exact chemo treatments in Springfield so we don't have to make a trip every 3 weeks.

 We will stay her tonight since it is late and raining.  We will start for home tomorrow morning.  We will probably go to Sherman again,  spend the night and head for home.

We are still experiencing difficulties with the Internet so I will update the pictures when we get to our hotel tomorrow night. 

Our card last night was from Tim, Debbie, Colby, and Carlie.  Thank you guys so much!  The thoughts brings smiles to our faces.
