SHERMAN, TX

We made it to Sherman, TX.  Boy, is it hot here.  99 degrees on the car display.  We are staying at the La Quinta right off Hwy 75.  It is very nice and cool.  We left home at about 12:30 and arrived here shortly after 6:00.  We came I-44 and 75 South.  Not a bad trip except a bunch of construction where we had to go one lane for several miles.  We only stopped once.  Steve did great.  He stayed awake almost all the way except he took a short nap between home and Joplin.  The hardest part of the trip was keeping the car from taking the Downstream Casino exit  :)   Man, there are hundreds of casinos between home and here.  We did not stop at any, but it was difficult not to.  The Hard Rock in Tulsa was very inviting.

We went out to eat.  We saw this sign on the window and couldn't pass it up.  Could you?

Had wonderful food.
It was called the Jalapeno Tree.  I believe it is a chain in TX.

When we left today Grandma gave us a sack with an envelope taped on the outside.  The instructions were to open the envelope when we arrived this evening.  Inside was a card explaining the rest of the sack.  In it are cards to open every evening.  They are from the family.  That way they are with us even though we are miles apart.  This is so exciting.  The idea brought tears to our eyes.  We are truely blessed with our family. We can't wait to open our envelopes each night. Inside the card tonight was a nice devotion titled "Jesus' Healing Love".  It was about Jesus healing the centurion.  We must remember to keep the faith and that all things are possible through God.  I know we have hundreds of prayers for us daily, which is a very comforting thought.  Once again we are blessed.

Right now we are relaxing and watching Kelly's Heroes on TMC.  It will be an early night for us.  We do not have to check-out until 12 but will probably leave before that.  We can check in down there at 3.
