Yes, you read that right. That is our high score on Bookworm. Steve and I are hooked as a team. We work great together on this word game. We love to play it. I think it is good because we are using our brains and not just trying to get three jewels in a row. I am becoming a better speller, and all my kids know I need that. The dictionary is my best friend when I write. He is usually not a game person, but he too likes Bookworm. In fact, tonight, it was his idea to play while we watched the OR game and now the Boise State/Nevada game. You realize that the college football season is drawing to a close. I am already getting sad.
We have had a good break. We went to his folk's yesterday and had a wonderful meal and visit with our family. Steve ate a great lunch. After lunch, I think he was worn out from the good food and took a break in the big chair in the front room at Grandma's. Everyone couldn't believe how he slept through all the Doss chaos. It was a good day. We just relaxed last night. Koleen and I watched Monsters Inc. before we went to bed.
Koleen and I went to the Veterans home this morning to visit Betty. When we got there all the residents were in the lobby. To our surprise, Gov. Nixon was coming in just 30 minutes. We went down to get Betty. She decided to come and meet him after we used Koleen's phone to establish if he was a Democrat or a Republican. We went up and Betty got to meet him. She whispered in his ear, " I'm the only Democrat among all these Republicans." You got to love Betty. She had such a good time with it. We stayed after that for a short visit. Next week is the home's holiday open house. Betty and I are planning on going on a Clydesdale carriage ride together. I sure do miss being there several days a week. I sure do love my veterans.
Koleen left today to go back to Columbia. She is going to the KU/MU game tomorrow at Arrowhead. She better dress warmly. It is going to be really cold.
Already we miss her. She will be home again in Dec. for a Christmas visit and then some. Can't wait.
Steve and I took it easy today. We really didn't do much except watch some games and play some games of Bookworm. We drove to Monett for Lai Lai's for supper. We have made a pact to eat at home more. Think we can do it? I sure hope so. I am getting really tired of the choices here in MV. We have more gas stations than restaurants and some of those have been recently closed by the health department. Our pickings are slim.
We are up late because we don't have to get up very early. We are planning on running to Springfield in the morning, but we will be home in time to catch the game on TV. I have it programmed to record encase we don't make it back in time for the start.
Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite )0(: (like my bed bug?)
