We are watching Modern Marvels; it is on tuna. We are amazed at how much bluefin tuna sells for. The highest priced bluefin sold in 2001 for over $100,000.00 dollars. I doubt my Chicken of the Sea cost that much. Actually, canned tuna is albacore tuna, which is much smaller than the bluefin. It is amazing how much tuna is eaten worldwide. Tokyo is the largest market for tuna. They have a seafood market that is 52 acres large. They also have tuna auctions that take place in several gymnasium sized rooms. Man, after seeing this show, I will respect my tuna salad more. The main push now is to keep them from going extinct. This show says we over fish them and in a decade, the bluefin may vanish from our oceans. If you like learning a lot of stuff about a lot of things, you should check out Modern Marvels.
Steve has not been feeling well. He has been sick several times since his last chemo. He is also very tired like he used to be. He has been taking it easy lately. Today, he went to have lunch with his mom and dad. They had a nice visit. Of course, mom's food is always better than wife's. :) Pete is doing fine. He is probably about 80%. This is good since it has only been a week since his surgery. He has been going to bed really, I mean really early lately. He has been crashing around 7:00 and sleeping all night long. Hopefully, he will start to regain his strength and over come his fatigue. His appetite has not been affected by his throwing up. I think he thinks,"Since I throw up everything, I might as well eat anything." This is good because even if he throws it up, he is getting the nutrition from it. He is also still being a good sport with my experimenting. Tonight, he ate my egg drop soup, spring rolls, egg rolls and pork/veggie buns. I am so lucky that he is good about trying my stuff. We liked it all except the pork/veggie buns. I won't make them again. Also, I really need to practice making the spring rolls. I think it will be like the California rolls, I will get better each time I make them. We shall see.
Elizabeth is about 8 hours from Mt. Vernon. She is stopping for the night, so she will be home sometime tomorrow. Her room is now ready. Steve cleaned out the closet and I took care of the rest. All my stuff from her closet is piled in the maintenance room. I will have to take a Sat. or snow day to reorganize my things. She is going to sleep in the upstairs extra room. It has its own bath and she will have some more privacy than if she was downstairs with Amelia and Aubree. She is bringing her truck and a U-haul. I really hope they aren't packed to the gills. I have no idea where we will put all her stuff.
I think I might venture out to the hot tub. I need some "Oma" time and just to relax.
