Red/Blue

Today was teacher inservice at Mt. Vernon.   I spent all morning long learning that my primary personality color is red with a secondary color of blue.  This means that I am motivated by power.  The theory is if you know how the other personalities affect you and how you affect them, you will be able to be a better teacher.  This is the second inservice we have learned about this.  I took my paperwork home to Steve and he thought it was accurate but I didn't have all the limitations associated with red/blue.  This is good to know since after today's inservice and the other one, I am/was feeling pretty low.  You see they make it sound like reds are a bunch of power hungry jerks and that no one likes us.  I can see that that is true to a certain extent, but I think this guys over stresses the jerkiness of reds. I will agree that I like to be in control.  I must confess that being a red has really helped me deal with everything I have had to deal with this past year....jerkiness or not.  It has helped me be strong and take control of things that I can control.   I know that I have had to rely on the strength of focus, confidence and assertiveness.  These have all make me a strong person.

Steve is doing fine. According to the paperwork I brought home, Steve is white, which is red's polar opposite.  It is one of those relationships where we balance each other out and bring out the best in each other.  It works for us and that is all that really matters.  I think that is true with all this.  If the relationship is important to you, you will make the adjustments needed to make it work.  This applies to personal and professional relationships.   It is all a matter of give and take.  As a red I think everyone should give and I should just take.  HA.  I am very lucky that Steve tolerates my limitations and loves me anyway.  :)  His side is very sore today.  I think he over did it in helping with the house chores today.  He sometimes does things because they don't bother him at the time, but he pays for it later.  This is one of those times.  It doesn't help that he forgot to take his pain and nerve medicine this afternoon.  He gets his hair cut early tomorrow morning.  He is looking kind of hippy.  I actually caught him wearing tye-dye and giving the peace sign.  HA HA.  Theresa always makes him look nice and does a good job on his hair.  I personally think he is very handsome...hippy or not.

We are expecting another snow event later this week.  I will keep you posted about the possibility of more snow days.  I hope if we have one, it is Thursday.  Then I can go to chemo with Steve.  If we do not have a snow day, he is going to take himself.  I was watching KY3 tonight and Ron Hurst said he didn't think it would amount to anything.  The KOLR 10 gal said that it would be inches and they would know more as the storm approached.  Which one do you believe?
