Hu-Hot

Today was a good day for us.  We woke up early and headed to Springfield.  It was First Saturday at the Quilt Sampler.  It is a block of the month club.  You meet the first Saturday of the month.  You get a new block to work on.  If you bring the block back totally completed by the next meeting, you get the next block free. Then the third month you pay; fourth month free and so on.  I am very excited about it.  The completed quilt should be beautiful.  For several month, you can purchase bonus blocks, which will finish out the quilt and make it bigger.  The first meeting had about 60 women in attendance.  I was amazed that there were so many there.

While I was in class, Steve waited for me.  He is a good sport about things like that.  We did go to lunch after my class.  We ate at the Mongolian Grill called Hu-Hot.  It was a good adventure.  You walk through a buffet line and pick your ingredients.  Then they cook it on a huge grill right in front of you.  My plate was delicious.  I had beef, crab, noodles, and vegetables.  You also get to decide which sauces you want to use.  We went with the house sauce since we were unsure of what the sauces were.  Steve had pork, chicken, and noodles.  He liked his also.  He did eat all of his plate and wanted to get more, but he decided against it since he didn't want to be a dog tick.  We have talked and decided that next time we go, it would be better if we got several small bowls instead of one bowl.  Steve thinks he likes it better than Hinode except there is no salad or soup at Hu-Hot.  It was also reasonably priced.  We think it is a good lunch destination and Hinode a dinner place.

I am still working on getting my sewing room in order.  We have finished the desk and shelf.  They are in place.  The cutting table still needs a coat or two on the top.  I have several things to organize around the room.  I did go to Lowe's to get some supplies.  I purchased some pegboard, hooks, and baskets.  I also got new pulls for the desk drawers.  The sad thing was the holes in the old drawer were not standard, so I ended up putting the old pulls back on.  It still looks nice.  I also bought a new floor lamp.  It was silver with white little "shades".  The sad part of this was, we bought the wrong size bulbs.  We bought large bottoms when it needed small bottoms.  I have to make another trip Lowe's soon.  I must take these things back.

Tomorrow we are talking about going to an auction.  It depends on how Steve feels and the weather.
